Come join us for an afternoon of fun. We welcome everyone to visit HCX on October 25, where we will have refreshments, trial classes, and facility tours. If you have been planning to come in, but just haven't done it yet, now is the time. We are now adding Yoga to our list of offered classes. It is a great way to get in shape, and loosen up those muscles. The open house schedule will be as follows:

 10:00 am - Refreshments & Tours

11:00 am - Trial Kid's Class

11:00 am - Trial Yoga Class

12:00 pm - Trial Adult Class

Congratulations TEAM HCX

Congratulations to Team HCX on their successful participation in the 2008 International Warriors Hall of Fame Open, in Medina, OH. The team competed in Submission Grappling and San Shou Divisions. Overall the team brought home 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals.

Congratulations TEAM USA Pankration

Congratulations to the Hill Brothers and the USA Pankration team for their success in Albania.  The Hill Brothers served as the head coaches for the team as they went on to claim the bronze medal in the team event. In individual competition, the team earned 1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze Medals. The Hill Brothers will be coaching the team next year as well, as they travel to Lithuania for the 2009 FILA Wrestling Games. Charlebois Makes Quick Work of Home Town Favorite

 

Congratulations to Jeff Charlebois, who in rapid fashioned tapped out Mike Biddle to win the Evolution Fighting Championships (EFC) Lightweight Title. Jeff won via Guillotine choke from the mounted position early in round 1. Charlebois has been hard at work developing his career, and his hard work is paying off. Jeff takes his record up to 4-2 in amateur mixed martial arts.

HCX Frequents the Podium at Wisconsin Pankration Tournament

 

Congratulations to all of the HCX Competitors who rocked the park at the Fiesta Open Martial Arts Championships. Of 15 competitors, HCX boasted a total of 15 medals (8 Gold, 6 Silver, & 1 Bronze). HCX competitors for this event included: Griffin Kordik, Brandon Morford, Emily Gue, Jeremy Turner, Kevin Johnson, Nick Ramirez, Samuel Vazquez, Angel Santana, James Bullock, Miguel Mata, Anthony Fearn, Kurt Selby, Sarah Okrey, Darlene Bunch, and Corrado Venzon. 

HCX is Merging Its Two Locations September 1, 2008

Effective September 1, 2008, HCX will be merging its current two locations. All classes as of that date will be held at the Joliet/Shorewood location. With this merging will come good changes as well. HCX Joliet/Shorewood will be better equipped with additional heavy bags, and matting. Additionally, there will be a new schedule adding another day to the normal schedule, as well as additional class times. Everyone will benefit from the new changes here at HCX. Hill Brothers Selected as Team USA Pankration Coaches for 1st FILA World Championships in Albania

 

"Tashi" Ron Hill and "Renshi" James Hill, have been selected to Coach the USA Pankration team in the FILA World Championships in Albania.The brothers have a wealth of experience to offer the team, not to mention that 5 of their fighters have been selected for the team as well. They will all be a part of the 1st FILA Pankration World Championships. Congratulations!!!!

3 HCX Team Members Selected for USA Pankration Team

 

Pankration is an ancient Greek sport that was first introduced into the Olympic Games in 648 B.C. Pankration is expected to re-enter the Olympics in 2012. Laura Edler-Hill, Brian Ferenchik, and Ray Bohm, have been selected as members of this team. They will represent HCX and the USA Federation of Pankration Athlima, in Albania in September. This will be the first Official FILA World Competition, since Pankration was accepted under the FILA wrestling games.

Hill Brothers Awarded Brazilian JiuJitsu and I.S.M.M.A. Black Belts

 

Ron & James Hill have been awarded 2 more Black Belts. Both brothers have been training BJJ for some time now, and were recently awarded BJJ and I.S.M.M.A. Black Belts by Master Ricardo Murgel (7th Degree Black Belt in BJJ).
